Initially signed as an undrafted free agent in 1995 by the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Released by the Dodgers in May 1997 and signed with the Minnesota Twins the same month.
Made his Major League debut against Oakland on 26/5/2001.
Acquired by Boston Red Sox on 21 April 2004. Boston won the World Series that year.
In 2005 and 2006 played for Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters in the Japanese Baseball League. He was a member of the their championship side which became 2006 Japan Series and Asian Series Champions.
1 March 2007 returned to America where he signed with the Seattle Mariners.
In 2008 and 2009 he played for Hanwha Eagles in the Korean Baseball Organisation.
He again returned to America in 2010 where he played for Detroit tigers and remained with that organisation in 2011.
Brad has been a member of the Australian National Team, competing in the 2000 Sydney Olympics and also Baseball World Cups.
Brad plays his senior baseball in Australia with Canterbury Bankstown Vikings. He has been with this Sydney Major League Club since 2003/4. In 2011 he was elected patron of the club.
